Column 2
- Quickly scan titles, headings, intro/conclusion, and charts.
- Turn headings into questions like "What is the writer trying to explain?"
- Read carefully to find specific answers to your questions.
- Connect the text to real life: "Do I agree?" or "Can I use this?"
- Say ideas aloud or write a summary without looking at the text.
- Re-read difficult parts and correct any misunderstandings.
