Asking for Advice (طلب النصيحة)

Formal / Professional رسمي / مهني

"I was wondering if you could give me some guidance on..." "What would you recommend in this situation?" "I'd appreciate your professional opinion regarding..."

Informal / Neutral غير رسمي / محايد

"What do you suggest I do?" "If you were me, what would you do?" "Any ideas on how to handle this?"

Giving Advice (إعطاء النصيحة)

Phrases عبارات

B2 Level: "You ought to..." Formal: "It might be advisable to..." Conditional: "If I were you, I'd..." Informal: "Why don't you try...?"

Accepting قبول

"That sounds like a solid plan." "I'll definitely give that a try." "That's great advice, thanks!"

Hesitating/Rejecting تردد / رفض

"I see your point, but..." "I'm not sure that would work for me." "That's easier said than done."

The "Suggest" Rule (قاعدة الفعل Suggest) Pattern A: "I suggest doing ..." (Suggest + Gerund) Pattern B: "I suggest that you (should) do ..." (Suggest + That Clause)

"Have you considered taking...?" "It might be worth looking into..."

National Exam Key (مفتاح الامتحان الوطني)

For Conditional Type 2 advice, always use "If I were you..." (not *was* ). Also, remember that "ought to" is the more formal version of "should" and is highly favored in B2-level writing exams. (في الشرطية الثانية استخدم دائماً "were" مع جميع الضمائر، و"ought to" هي البديل الرسمي لـ "should")
