Countable Nouns (أسماء معدودة)
Things you can count individually.
Use "How many?": "
How many
apples are there?"
(كم تفاحة هناك؟)
- one apple, two apples (تفاحة، تفاحتان)
- a carrot, three carrots (جزرة، ثلاث جزرات)
Uncountable Nouns (أسماء غير معدودة)
Things you can't count (liquids, powders, concepts).
Use "How much?": "
How much
water is there?"
(كم مقدار الماء هناك؟)
- water (not "two waters") (ماء)
- rice (not "three rices") (أرز)
