Connector words (or "helping words") join sentences to make your writing sound better.

and (joins two similar ideas) (و)
"I like reading. I like watching movies." → "I like reading
and
watching movies."
(أحب القراءة وأحب مشاهدة الأفلام.)
but (joins two different ideas) (لكن)
"I like soccer,
but
I don't like tennis."
(أحب كرة القدم، لكنني لا أحب التنس.)
so (shows a result) (لذلك)
"The library has many books,
so
I go there often."
(المكتبة بها العديد من الكتب، لذلك أذهب إليها كثيرًا.)
because (gives a reason) (لأن)
"I go for a walk
because
it is good exercise."
(أذهب للمشي لأنها تمرين جيد.)
