Besides 'will' and 'going to', other tenses can also be used to express future arrangements and schedules.
Will + base verb
Use for:
Example: (The phone rings) "I
will get
it!"
- Spontaneous decisions
- Predictions, promises, offers
Be Going To + base verb
Use for:
Example: "It looks cloudy. It
is going to rain
."
- Pre-made plans and intentions
- Predictions based on present evidence
Present Continuous
Use for:
Example: "I'
m meeting
Sarah for lunch tomorrow."
- Fixed arrangements and appointments
Present Simple
Use for:
Example: "Our flight
departs
at 6:00 AM."
- Official schedules, timetables, programs
