The three most common prepositions of time and place are

. The key is to remember they move from specific to general.
AT
(Specific / A Point)
Time:
Used for precise times.
*at 8 o'clock, at midnight, at lunchtime.*
Place:
Used for specific addresses and points.
*at 25 Maple Street, at the bus stop, at home.*
ON
(More General / A Surface or Line)
Time:
Used for specific days and dates.
*on Monday, on my birthday, on Christmas Day.*
Place:
Used for surfaces, streets, and lines.
*on the table, on the floor, on Oxford Street.*
IN
(Most General / An Enclosed Space)
Time:
Used for non-specific times, months, years, seasons.
*in the morning, in August, in 1990.*
Place:
Used for enclosed spaces and larger geographical areas.
*in the box, in the car, in London.*
