Grammar: Past Perfect Continuous
Use:
To describe a continuous action in the past that was in progress before another past action occurred. It often emphasizes the duration of the first action.
Form: had + been + verb-ing
- Positive: They had been playing for hours.
- Negative: He hadn't been feeling well.
- Question: Had you been waiting long?
Timeline: Ongoing Action Before a Past Event
An ongoing action (---) that happens before a specific point (x) in the past.

Examples:
