Grammar: Present Continuous

Use: Actions happening right now, temporary situations, and definite future plans.

Form

  • Positive: Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing.
  • Negative: Subject + am/is/are + not + verb-ing.
  • Question: Am/Is/Are + subject + verb-ing?

Timeline: The action is in progress at the moment of speaking.

Past --- ( NOW ) --- Future

Examples:

  • The chef is preparing dinner.
  • He isn't listening to the teacher.
  • Are you coming to the party tonight? (Future plan)
