Grammar: Present Simple

Use: Habits, routines, unchanging situations, general truths, and fixed schedules.

Form

Positive: Subject + base verb (+s/es for he/she/it).
Negative: Subject + do/does + not + base verb.
Question: Do/Does + subject + base verb?

Timeline: A recurring or permanent state.

Past ... x ... x ... NOW ... x ... x ... Future

Examples:

She works in a hospital.
They don't like spicy food.
Do you play the guitar?
